Making coffee with a pour-over doesn’t have to be complicated.
In fact, part of its charm is how simple and mindful the process can be. With just a few basic tools and a little hot water, you can brew a cup that’s rich, balanced, and tailored to your taste.
Our Pour-Over Coffee Maker is designed to make that process as straightforward as possible, so whether you’re completely new to hand-brewing or just looking to refine your morning ritual, you’ll find it easy to get started.
Place the filter in the ceramic funnel. Rinse it with hot water to wash away any papery taste and to preheat the ceramics. Discard the rinse water.
Measure out 30g (~5tbsp) of freshly ground coffee and pour it into the funnel. Give the funnel a little shake so the coffee bed is flat and even.
Start your brew with 60ml of water. Pour slowly and evenly over the grounds, making sure they’re all saturated. Give a gentle stir with your spoon. Let it sit for 30–45 seconds to allow gases to escape.
Add water until you reach 240ml total. Pour in steady circles, working from the center out to the edges and back again. Once finished, gently swirl the funnel to settle the coffee bed. Pause for 15–20 seconds.
Slowly pour the remaining water until you reach 480ml total. Keep your pour steady and even. After pouring, give the funnel one last gentle swirl and let the coffee drain through. The whole brew should take 4–5 minutes.
