As an enthusiastic home chef I always struggle with mastering the art of using my knives because I have arthritis in my hands.
So it is a struggle to not only chop safely but also to manage a comfortable grip on my knife as I am using it.
I found out about Katto through the Sunday Times supplement that ran an expose on “Blades of Glory”, a very interesting review of the best hand forged kitchen scissors.Katto was mentioned and I really liked the idea of supporting what is in fact a heritage industry and that it is made here in the Uk.
By researching the scissors, which I have since bought and really love,I also found the Nakiri knife with it’s weighted handle and super comfortable grip.
It has made a great difference to my culinary adventures.I do still have to be very careful when using my knife as it is hellishly sharp but because of it’s balance and weight I am not so prone to slipping up as I slice.
So incredibly sharp, great feel and balance and looks great.
This is my second Katto Knife. I love it. Sharp as hell and lovely to use
The knife came beautifully packaged
I took it out of the box, and immediately I could feel the balance, just brilliant, perfect.
Then I used it, wow. It sliced through everything effortlessly.
I thought it might be a bit light for big root veg, but no, it has tackled everything I have chopped.
I am using an oil stone to sharpen it after use, and it looks absolutely gorgeous on the magnetic knife rack. I just need more Katto knives.
This was a birthday present for my dad and he absolutely loves it - quality is brilliant and he used it straight away
